How to Create a New Venue in GigGizmo

A venue page supports every show held at that location. Create it once, check it carefully, and reuse it for future dates.

Check for an Existing Venue First

Open Venues in the WordPress Dashboard and search for the official name and city. A venue may already exist under a slightly different spelling. Reuse the existing venue whenever possible so you do not create duplicates.

Create the Venue

  1. Log in to WordPress.
  2. Open Venues in the Dashboard menu.
  3. Select Add New Venue.

It will open in the regular WordPress page editor. You can use that editor or select Edit with Elementor to add the information about the venue.

Be sure to add:

  • The venue’s official public name
  • The complete street address, city, state, and ZIP code
  • The venue website
  • The public phone number
  • The logo, if available

You can also add a reservation link, ticket-sales link, map, parking information, and other useful details.

Follow the Existing Venue Style

Open an existing venue page in another browser tab and use it as your guide. If the other venue pages use the WordPress editor, follow that layout. If they use Elementor, use Elementor. Do not mix the two editors on the same venue page.

Publish and Check the Page

Review the page and select Publish. Open the public venue page and check the address, links, spelling, image, and mobile layout. The new venue should then be available in the venue list when you add a show.

Use Reliable Information

Use the venue’s official website or information supplied directly by the venue whenever possible. Do not copy photographs or logos unless they were supplied for promotion or you have permission to use them.
