  • What exactly do you see?
  • Copy the complete error message, if there is one.
  • Which page, form, button, or dashboard screen is affected?
  • Is the entire website down?
  • Does it happen for everyone or only one person or device?
  • When did it begin?
  • What happened immediately before it began?
  • What have you already tried?
  • When possible, add screenshots that show the whole browser window and the error.

Your Hosting and Current Access

  • Which company do you pay for website hosting? If you do not know, say so.
  • Can you currently log in to the hosting account?
  • Can you currently log in to WordPress?
  • Does either account use two-factor authentication?
  • Do you know whether a recent backup is available?

You do not need to test or change a password just to answer these questions.

Permission to Work on the Site

  • Are you the website owner, or are you authorized to approve and pay for the repair?
  • Is a developer, agency, employee, or hosting company working on the same problem right now?
  • Are there privacy, access, timing, or regulatory restrictions I need to know about?

When Can We Connect?
